Purpose of Role
Under Armour Europe is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant to join its Accounting team based in Amsterdam. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible and focused individual to join a high-quality Finance team.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to support the statutory compliance of our 14 European entities spread out across 12 countries as well as play a key role in driving process improvements for the statutory reporting. This is a hands-on role which requires strong knowledge of US and local GAAPs as well as experience in accounts preparation.
The role will also be responsible for the preparation of the payroll month-end close, as well as driving process improvement and automation and business partnering with the HR & payroll teams on ad-hoc queries.
Your Impact
Statutory reporting:
Coordinating with the wider UA team to ensure timely delivery of statutory reporting for all EU legal entities.
Liaise with 3rd party providers on the preparation and audit of the statutory financial statements of UA Europe subsidiaries.
Support in the preparation of statutory financial statements for entities prepared in-house.
Review of statutory financial statements prepared by 3rd party providers.
Liaise directly with the Corporate Internal controls team to support effective controls reporting and communication from the region.
Improve processes in relation to statutory reporting.
Payroll:
Prepare payroll month end close, including bookkeeping, reviewing of financial information, preparing and journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly payroll-related processes.
Perform transactional research and variance analysis on assigned accounts to understand reasons for changes and help ensure accuracy.
Ensure compliance with key internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required.
Maintain close collaboration with FP&A and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or equivalent experience in related fields.
4+ years’ work experience in accounting and/or finance (preferably including Audit experience), in a high-growth dynamic operating environment, preferably including experience in a global public company.
Proven track record of working with stakeholders from across geographies and managing the reporting cycle.
CPA or equivalent is required
Experience working with US GAAP and Local European GAAPs highly desirable.
Experience in ESG reporting highly desirable.
Combination of audit and industry experience preferred.
Knowledge of SAP and Workiva preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and data analytics.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and influence others outside of direct team peers.
Fluency in English is a must, while other European language is highly desirable.
Workplace Location
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from ourAmsterdam office.
Return to Work Designation: 2 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
